Truck Driver/Warehouse Worker

General Characteristics

Experienced Class A or B driver. Clean motor vehicle report.  Will be required to drive a small, medium or heavy truck to make deliveries and pick-ups.  Vehicle may include a trailer.

Fills shipping and transfer orders from stored merchandise in accordance with pull slip or other instructions.  Assists in receiving, checking and storing items.  Must use forklift to move materials. 

Interaction with others required involving basic courtesy and straight forward exchange of information.  Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance.  Arrive ready to work by time agreed with or instructed by supervisor.  Attend company and location meetings.

Pre-employment testings are required.

Representative Activities

• Maintain certifications for various machinery, equipment, etc.
• Maintain open communication with all fellow employees
• Check accuracy of deliveries before leaving the location and upon delivery to customer
• Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers
• Operate company vehicles in a safe manner
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicle
• When necessary, make pre-phone call arrangements with jobsite contact person
• Always make delivery commitments
• Help plan pre-determined route for most effective utilization within schedule constraints
• Ensure delivery or pick-up documentation is complete
• Complete daily log books and record fuel consumption
• Advises supervisor of repair and maintenance needs
• During non-driving hours helps with any necessary warehouse work including pulling orders and loading trucks for the following day deliveries.
