LB Water Announces Board Appointments

LB Water, a value-added developer and distributor of waterworks-infrastructure products for the Mid-Atlantic region, today announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors.

Mark L. Pulaski, CPA, CGMA, CFP, is a principal at Cornerstone Advisors in Allentown, where he focuses on estate planning for family-owned businesses.  His expertise includes strategic business planning, organizational alignment, and human-capital development. A graduate of Bucknell University who holds a master of science degree in financial services from American College, Pulaski also has a strong background in executive leadership in the banking industry.  Prior to joining Cornerstone, Pulaski was treasurer and chief financial officer, chief operating officer, and president of Wealth Management.  Previously, he served as an auditor and consultant for several national public accounting firms.

 

 Matthew Markunas

Matthew G. Markunas is vice president of Central Builders Supply Company in Sunbury.  A graduate of Susquehanna University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Markunas began working for his family’s business at the age of 14 and is now part of the third generation of family leaders at Central Builders Supply.  Markunas and his brother, Anthony, also own and operate Meckley’s Limestone Products, Inc., a leading aggregate, bituminous concrete, and pulverized-stone supplier in the central Pennsylvania region.

“We are very pleased to have Mark Pulaski and Matthew Markunas as members of our governing body at LB Water,” said James App, chairman of the company’s board of directors, who also is serving as the company’s interim chief executive officer following the sudden passing of former chief executive Fred Steimling.  “Both Mark and Matt bring a wealth of expertise and experience that will help to guide LB Water as we continue to advance our role as leaders and innovators in the water infrastructure industry.”

In addition to Pulaski, Markunas, and App, Walt Van Nuys and Bill Everly, Sr. also serve on the company’s five-member board. 

LB Water is a value-added distributor of waterworks-infrastructure products for the Mid-Atlantic region, including water-metering technologies, water infrastructure, sanitary sewers, stormwater, and environmental—erosion/stabilization. It is a 100-percent, employee-owned organization that was voted among the Top 100 Places to Work in Pennsylvania for two consecutive years. Founded in 1970 by Lehman B. Mengel, the company employs 181 people at eight locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.
