LB Water Partners With Renowned Humanitarian

May 29, 2013

As a value added distributor of waterworks infrastructure products, LB Water partners with a wide variety of vendors. On Wednesday, May 29th one of those vendors will be honored in Los Angeles by the DEA Educational Foundation as a Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient.

Walter Wang, Chairman and CEO of JM Eagle Inc., heads up the world’s largest manufacturer of plastic pipe. With twenty manufacturing plants in seventeen states, JM Eagle produces high quality PVC and HDPE pipe for a wide variety of applications. His professional achievements are undeniably impressive but they are matched, and perhaps even surpassed, by his humanitarian efforts.

As board member and lead supporter of the DEA Educational Foundation, Mr. Wang has furthered the education of Americans about the consequences of drug abuse through the new DEA Museum at the California Science Center.

He also donated a million dollars to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.

But his philanthropic efforts are not by any means limited to the Americas. Mr. Wang has donated 400 miles of PVC pipe to a partnership between the United Nations and the Earth Institute of Columbia University’s Millennium Villages to help provide clean water to more than 300,000 people living in poverty on the African continent.

He has also funded the production of two award winning documentaries, one highlighting the plight of orphans left behind by the AIDS crisis in China’s Yingzhou District, and another focused on unregulated manufacturing’s damaging effects on rural China.

Whether the focus is North America, Africa, or China, Mr. Wang’s service to those less fortunate than himself spans the globe. LB Water is proud to do business with such a selfless humanitarian.
