LB Water Launches Interactive Presentation to Educate About Water Systems

“LB City™” presents details on four distinct categories, including potable water and wastewater

April 28, 2020

LB Water, a leading provider of waterworks infrastructure solutions to cities, counties, municipalities and businesses throughout the mid-Atlantic region, announced today the debut of a custom-designed, interactive tool that details water systems and component products in innovative ways.

Named “LB City,” the online map allows customers to learn more about waterworks systems, their component products and how LB Water implements them. Customers can access LB City by visiting lbh2o.com/city.

With LB City, customers will virtually explore an animated cityscape, enabling the filtering of products by four distinct categories: Potable Water, Wastewater, Stormwater and Smart City.

The map depicts a scene representing the different types of municipalities found across America. Customers will see small housing developments, a big-business high-rise and retail establishments.

But with just a click, visitors to LB City are introduced to products that aren’t always visible. The tool uncovers critical subterranean infrastructure systems that are often out of sight and out of mind unless a service disruption occurs.

“For the last 50 years, the team at LB Water has worked tirelessly to not only serve customers and meet their needs, but to be an educational resource about the intricacies of our industry,” said Shawn Pulford, Chief Executive Officer, LB Water. “LB City is the latest extension of those efforts, and we couldn’t be more excited about how it’s going to help our customers and the industry as a whole.”

Offering an industry perspective, Kevin King, President of the industry association Water and Sewer Distributors of America, commented that “the interactive map is easily navigated, and a very educational piece. My perception is that this will go a long way to educating individuals new to the waterworks industry.”

Industry leader Rick Fairbanks, President of The Distribution Group, also had advance review of the tool. “LB City is the most comprehensive, yet clear, synopsis of our industry that I have ever seen,” he said.

As a company, LB Water is 100% employee owned, which means collaborative efforts on projects are commonplace — and LB City was no exception. In addition to Pulford, several members of the team were heavily involved in the project, including John Brutz, General Manager of LB Water affiliate company 540 Technologies, whose interest and contributions were instrumental in LB City’s successful launch.

“LB City was the perfect vehicle for us to spread our knowledge of waterworks products and solutions, and we think it’s going to make a significant difference in the way customers learn what we do,” Pulford said.
